“...a great asset to the musical world...”
“Dr. Rick and the Burners is a good-time cover band headed by Dr. Rick Patt, a regular at Dan Electro's blues jam and the Big Easy. Teri Greene usually sits in with the Burners, so guitar sparks fly.”
“About a year old and forged from the cauldron of Houston's fertile open jam scene, DR RICK & THE BURNERS is comprised of a stable core of seasoned musicians and a host of featured guests. Band leader, singer and guitarist Rick Patt is a medical doctor, Chuck Cavaleri sings & lays down searing bass and anchorman ‘Grandad’ John Blalock is the in-the-pocket drummer. Most gigs feature guitar virtuoso, The Very Teri Greene, longtime host of DanElectro's legendary Thursday open blues jam, and veteran keyboard support from "Mister" Dave," currently also playing with the fabulous Romeo Dogs. The music fills a unique niche, that of New Orleans style rhythm 'n blues/Houseparty music. Not a typical cover band, the show draws from a pre-Rock 'n Roll legacy of remarkable breadth and depth, Reinvigorating slightly obscure but delightfully familiar tunes, the result is an energetic, uplifting and spirited experience that touches the soul and stirs the feet. Gripping, festive and picante, partying with Dr. Rick and the Burners is a festive sure thing!”
Dr Rick & the Burners ‘smoked’ at The Hogg in Memorial...Dr Rick is not afraid to reinvent or modify something new (or old) with the Blues or Classic Rock and produce head turning results. Check out Teri Greene on guitar!
